There’s almost nothing like Thunderbolt Fantasy, a wuxia glove puppet action show that is a collaboration between a Japanese novelist/screen writer and a Taiwanese puppet studio. Sure there’s the other work by that puppet studio, Pili, as well as a great deal of the lead writer’s work, Gen Urobuchi, but the combination of these two creative forces has created on of the most singular television properties in recent memory.
