This season’s crop of anime is easily one of the strongest that I’ve ever actively followed. For me the series that is currently at the front of the pack is the charming sports/ slice of life tale Run with the Wind. It demonstrates a mastery of dialogue and character writing, drawing inspiration from hangout movies to create a eminently likable cast of unlikely companions. It captures the appeal of college life brilliantly, and its easygoing nature melds well with its slowly building genre beats.
