Why Sekiro’s Parry Mechanic Is A Perfect Fit For A FromSoftware Game

I have a deep affinity for the works of FromSoftware. Not only do their games feature some of the most enchanting and haunting worlds in the medium, but they also consistently showcase a mastery of environmental storytelling and worldbuilding. Their games also happen to be very, very hard, but in a way that inspires mastery as opposed to directly causing frustration. Their latest title marries the studio’s affinity for making difficult titles with a fighting game mechanic that intrinsically requires mastery, that being parrying.

  1. don’t you mean “deflecting”? 😀 I always end up saying parry anyway. personally absolutely love the game, but am not nearly good enough in that genre to play it through. I’ve had it installed for like 3 or 4 months now and still have barely 1/4th of the game played. I really enjoyed your blog and felt like leaving a comment.
